BIG BAGS with UN mark
The requirements for packaging hazardous substances are strictly regulated. The framework established by the United Nations (UN) Subcommittee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods aims to protect people and the environment from the effects of hazardous substances. Detailed ADR regulations can be found on the UN website. Depending on the properties of hazardous materials, they are classified accordingly; more information on this can be found on the website of the Institute of Organic Industry.
Paktainer has ready-made models of big bags with the UN mark. For customers who would like to adapt the packaging to their individual needs in terms of the load-bearing capacity of the container and its construction, we are able to design the optimal technical solution for the big bag and subject it to testing and certification for the UN mark.
Types of big bags with the UN mark
Each package, including big bag containers, intended for use in accordance with ADR regulations must be marked in a permanent and legible manner. An example of marking big bags with the UN sign with an explanation of the individual elements is shown below.

- Resistance to impact during free fall
- Resistance to impact during fall with overturning
- Lifting of a lying big bag
- Resistance to tearing
